Patricia was originally a small business owner who returned to university later in life. She graduated from the University of Sydney in 2005 and went on to complete a Graduate Diploma of Education in Secondary English and History but found that teaching at High School was not the career for her. Patricia started her employment at Kelso Lawyers as an intern in 2015 while completing her law degree.
After working on hundreds of compensation matters over the past four years with Kelso Lawyers, Patricia has recently been assigned carriage of the numerous National Redress Scheme matters currently being processed as well as claims made under the Commonwealth Ombudsman Scheme for reports of abuse in the Australian Defence Force.
Patricia: “I particularly like assisting clients under the National Redress Scheme. For most of the clients this is their last chance of receiving any recognition for the abuse that they endured as a child. The NRS is designed to be less invasive than the traditional mediation process and for a lot of clients it is their only option. It is a good feeling being able to assist clients with the NRS to finally gain some closure on the past”.
