Dr Ashleigh Jarrold is a convicted child sex offender.
Jarrold spent his days working as a dentist in Hamilton, NSW throughout the 1970s.
In 2009 Jarrold was convicted of eight offences and was sentenced to seven years imprisonment.
These horrific offences included two counts of indecent assault, three counts of disseminating and producing child pornography, one count of possessing child pornography, one count for grooming a child for unlawful sexual activity and one count of using a carriage service to transmit child pornography.
Ashleigh Jarrold participated in something chillingly described as a “paedophilic smorgasbord” in the mid-1970s with Father Peter Brock – a catholic priest who somehow escaped justice for his sickening actions.
Sexual abuse was continually perpetrated in a Newcastle house. Jarrold was present on several occasions where a young boy was plied with alcohol before being sexually abused.
While Ashleigh Jarrold was awaiting trial for child sex offences he committed in the 1970’s, he made a brazen attempt to organise a sexual encounter with a 15-year-old boy over the internet.
Detectives were posing as the teenage boy.
Shocking surveillance footage showed Jarrold masturbating while he was talking online with the “boy”. He offered to pick the teenager up from school so they could have sex at a hotel. He also sent the child pornographic images, and even discussed other sexual encounters with underage children.
Ashleigh Jarrold discussed child sex abuse, defecation, rape, and murder in explicit online conversations over 2003-2008. He disseminated child pornography to others over the internet depicting a teenage boy performing sex acts with men. Jarrold encouraged child sex abuse and wrote freely about his enjoyment of seeing children crying in pain as they suffered acts of torture and sexual abuse.
Jarrold was eligible for parole in late 2015. He is only banned from dentistry until 2020.
