Australia’s most prolific paedophile priest, Gerald Ridsdale, is now facing a further 62 child sexual abuse charges. Ridsdale was a Catholic priest who committed many (but far from all) of his offences within the Diocese of Ballarat.
Ridsdale has been in prison since 1994, having been charged and convicted on eight previous occasions for hundreds of child sex offences against upwards of 70 Victorian children. Kelso Lawyers has previously written about Ridsdale’s shocking history and welcomes the news that he will now be held accountable for more of his sickening crimes.
The new charges relate to offences against six victims alleged to have occurred in Inglewood and Mortlake in the 1970s and 1980s. They include charges of sexual penetration of a person between 10 and 16.
